(Ages 10-14) :

SENIOR DIVISON
(Ages 15-18) :

Interested piano teachers are encouraged to enter their advanced students in this event. This is a wonderful performance opportunity for your students.
Previous 1st Place Winners: May not enter the same division in the Polish Fest Chopin Youth Piano Competion
- Age: Open to all non-professional pianists up through the age of 18
- Length of Performance: Should not exceed 10 minutes
- Perform any (1) one original composition written by Frederic Chopin
- No arrangements
- Select any Ballade, Etude, Impromptu, Mazurka, Nocturne, Polonaise, Prelude, Sonata (one movement), Waltz, etc.
- Selected piece must be performed by memory, in its entirety
Preliminary Audition (Audition/Video/CD) :
- All applicants are required to submit a preliminary audition in the form of an audio/video tape or CD recording.
- Recordings submitted for audition, may be done at home or studio and need not be professionally recorded.
- Any recordings that are inaudible or of poor quality, will be automatically disqualified.
- Please make sure to review your recording before submitting your audition for review.
- Audition tapes & CD's become property of the Chopin Youth Piano Competition and will not be returned.
Include a Color Photo :
- A school/graduation photo is highly recommended.
- Digital photos may be used, however head size should be at least 1" in size.
- Enclosed photo should be no larger than 4" x 6" and do not need to be professionally done.
- PLEASE NOTE: Photos will not be returned.
Rules :
- APPLICATION DEADLINE: All applications & packets must be postmarked on or before June 1, 2010
- LOST OR MISDIRECTED MAIL: The Chopin Youth Piano Competition is not responsible for any lost or misdirected mail. To ensure proper delivery, we recommend that you send your packet with a return receipt (Certified Mail)
- APPLICATION FEE: Send a completed official registration form, audition tape/CD and color photo along with a non-refundable application fee of: $20.00 and make checks payable to: Polish Fest
- PLEASE NOTE: Coolers, beverages and/or food items are strictly prohibited from being brought onto the festival grounds and any such items must be kept in your car. We ask that you kindly abide by this festival regulation.
Finalist Notification:
- Only finalists will be notified via telephone and/or email on or around June 13, 2010
- Finalist will each receive an information packet containing a confirmation letter with more specific details about the Chopin Youth Piano Competition.
- This packet will include the following:
- Itinerary
- Directions
- (2) Two complimentary admission tickets to Polish Fest 2010
